About Maha Swagat
Maha Swagat is a first-of-its-kind welcome for Navi Mumbai. It is a modern interpretation of the traditional toran—a symbol of honor and celebration. The theme of this installation is inspired by the Indian ethos of Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is God), which transforms the idea of welcome into a vibrant experience.
Suspended under the two grand arches of the airport terminal entrance, rings of light and dynamic LED patterns create a flowing play of color and motion. Like a contemporary toran, it frames the gateway—not as static décor, but as a living welcome. Drawing from Maharashtrian traditions and reimagined on a digital canvas, Maha Swagat turns departure into a moment of celebration—where the spirit of Maharashtra greets every guest with warmth and brilliance.
In close collaboration with the NMIAL team, the installations of the Digital Art Program are conceived, designed, curated and produced by TMS TAMSCHICK MEDIA+SPACE (Berlin), in collaboration with WOWSPACELAB (Berlin), TAMSCHICK EXHIBITION VENTURES (Berlin), Valentin Trillo Architects (Sevilla), m-box (Berlin), BeWunder (Berlin) and switch and roy studio (Goa).
Technical Implementation by Infosoft Digital Design & Services IDDS (Mumbai).
