Located within the grand double height atrium between the domestic departure and arrival levels, Bollywood Reels transforms the terminal into a vibrant celebration of Mumbai's cinematic legacy. Suspended light rings and large LED clad circular forms evoke the movement of film reels, animating the space with iconic scenes, moods and visual moments that have shaped generations of Indian cinema. As passengers move through the atrium, they encounter a dynamic interplay of light, motion and storytelling inspired by the city that has long been the creative heart of Bollywood.

Drawing from cinema's rich visual and emotional vocabulary, the installation presents a curated montage of narratives that reflect Mumbai's cultural identity and collective memory. Through evolving sequences of imagery and light, Bollywood Reels creates an immersive experience that connects travellers to the city's enduring relationship with film, imagination and storytelling.

In close collaboration with the NMIAL team, the installations of the Digital Art Program are conceived, designed, curated and produced by TMS TAMSCHICK MEDIA+SPACE (Berlin), in collaboration with WOWSPACELAB (Berlin), TAMSCHICK EXHIBITION VENTURES (Berlin), Valentin Trillo Architects (Sevilla), m-box (Berlin), BeWunder (Berlin) and switch and roy studio (Goa).
